Wei Jingsheng (China, 1994)

Striving for human rights protection and the democratization of China, Wei Jingsheng's influential role in the Democracy Wall movement and political criticism resulted in a fifteen-year prison term. Now in the United States, Jingsheng continues to educate and advocate for political reform and human rights in China.

Due to political exile, health problems or the pursuit of personal endeavors, a number of Laureates are no longer partnered with the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Human Rights.
